We collect only the information needed to run the Site and the newsletter.

• Account information. When you sign in to subscribe to the newsletter, we use Google Firebase Authentication with Google as the sign in provider. Firebase shares your basic Google profile with us, which includes your email address, display name, profile photo URL and a unique Google account identifier.
• Contact form submissions. If you use the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you provide so we can reply to you.
• Usage data. Standard analytics signals such as pages visited, referring URL, device type, browser, approximate location at the country or city level and timestamps. This is collected through Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights.
• Cookies and local storage. Used to keep you signed in, remember preferences and gather the analytics signals above.

We do not knowingly collect payment data, government IDs or any sensitive personal information.

• To create and secure your newsletter account.
• To send you the newsletter and related updates you opted in to.
• To respond to messages you send through the contact form.
• To understand how the Site is used and to improve performance, content and reliability.
• To protect the Site against abuse, spam and security incidents.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third party advertising.

Where applicable (for example, under the EU and UK GDPR), we rely on a small set of legal bases. We rely on your consent when you sign up for the newsletter, on our legitimate interests for operating and improving the Site and on compliance with our legal obligations.

The Site relies on a small number of third party services that process data on our behalf or as independent controllers.

• Google (Firebase Authentication and Google Sign In) authenticates the Google account used for newsletter access.
• Google Analytics provides site usage analytics.
• Vercel provides hosting, Speed Insights and Web Analytics.
• Email delivery providers are used to send newsletter issues and contact form replies.

Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles your information.

Account and subscription data is stored securely. We use HTTPS in transit and rely on the security features of our providers (Google, Vercel) at rest. No method of transmission or storage on the internet the internet is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your account and subscription information for as long as your newsletter subscription is active. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data from our active systems, except where we are required to keep it to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

You may, at any time, do any of the following.

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any issue.
• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data.
• Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the basis.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, where the law permits.

The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please reach out and we will delete it.

The Site is operated from Bangladesh and the third party providers we use (Google, Vercel) may process data in other countries. By using the Site you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by email where appropriate.
